Saturday (4:24 AM dawn, 5:05 AM sunrise, 9:04 PM sunset, 9:45 PM dusk)
- 4:45 AM - Hike 5.5 miles, 4,100 ft gain (3 hours) (49°F, 6 mph winds, 61% cloud cover)
- 7:45 AM - Base of climb (51°F, 6 mph winds, 68% cloud cover)
- 8:15 AM - Climbing (5 pitches, 30 min/pitch, 2.5 hours)
- 10:45 AM - Top (53°F, 9 mph winds, 58% cloud cover)
- 11:15 AM - Descend and go over to Dragontail proper
- 12:00 PM - Dragontail (54°F, 9 mph winds, 58% cloud cover)
- 12:30 PM - Go back to car (~6 miles, ~4,400 ft descent, 3.5 hours)
- 4:00 PM - Car (69°F, 7 mph winds, 48% cloud cover)
Pushing schedule back 1 hour would make it about 2 degrees warmer while still avoiding the windiest part of the day (wind starts picking up at 2pm and picks up a lot more at 5pm).
Pushing back a second hour makes it about 4 degrees warmer than initial schedule, but starts to get closer to when it gets windier.
